Convalescent/Restorative Care Unit - Prince Edward Home
The purpose of this unit is to maximize the functional abilities of seniors and others following a decline in functioning as a result of an acute or chronic condition through the provision of a holistic, interdisciplinary client centered program.
The unit's philosophy is to provide holistic, inter-disciplinary, client centered, goal orientated programming that assists the client/family to optimize their level of function and return to the community. Consideration is given to the client’s individual familial strengths and limitations and to the availability of resources.
The unit has12 Restorative / Convalescent Care beds. A team of health care professionals will work with the patient and family to improve their physical function and independence. Individual program planning is based on partnerships between the patient, family and the health care team.
