Medical Education Program
The Government of Prince Edward Island is dedicated to high-quality medical education in the province. We are a team of family physicians, medical specialists, administration, nurses and allied health professionals who are developing a program to ensure high-quality education, quality-care improvement, professional satisfaction and stabilization of the medical-delivery system.
The Medical Education Program was established in March, 2000, to provide a formalized coordinated structure for the teaching of medical students and residents on Prince Edward Island. We have a great selection of dedicated physicians both in Family Medicine and Specialty areas that take pride in teaching within their practice. In most instances Family Medicine clinical rotations are taught one on one whereas in the majority of specialty areas the teaching is a shared responsibility among colleagues.
